Villa Travertino

A new private residence in the Val d'Orcia, clad entirely in local travertine. The long horizontal building sits low in the rolling Tuscan landscape, its flat cantilevered roof creating a deep loggia that runs the full length of the southern facade.

The travertine cladding — cut from a quarry within the region — connects the building to the geological character of the landscape. The material is used consistently inside and out, so that the boundary between interior and exterior dissolves at the floor-to-ceiling glazed walls.
